SAFETY SIGNAGES
Safety signage is used to give information about health or safety, it can be a colour, hand signal, signboard, verbal communication, or acoustic signal. They are mainly designed to prevent injury by creating an awareness of people with hazards and possible dangers in the workplace.
- Mandatory Sign: It tells or instructs the people what must be done, it indicates safety processes to be done before and during the work for safe working. It looks like black text inside a blue circle on a white background or white pictograph.
- Prohibition Sign: Instruction that must not be done like restricted access with a NO SMOKING or NO ENTRY sign. It looks like banned behaviour with black pictographs or items within a red circle or black text on white background.
- Warning Signs: Used to identify and warn objects, actions, and hazards that may not be life-threatening but harmful. They have a black ideograph inside a black triangle on a bright yellow background in black text.
- Danger Signs: It tells the people that the hazardous condition can be life-threatening, mainly used in high-powered machinery, high voltages, and acid and volatile chemicals. The word DANGER is displayed in white capital letters inside a red oval on a rectangular black background.
- Restriction: Restriction signs are commonly written numbers used to tell the speed limit, height limit, vehicle weight, or other parameters. They look like the number in black font inside a red circle with a white background.
