Respiratory Protection

RPE refers to Respiratory Protective Equipment used from preventing the inhalation of hazardous air substances by the person in the workplace.

Main Types of RPE

• Respirator or Filtering Device: Filters the contaminants in the air of the workplace. These are further divided into Non-powered respirators used to breathe in the air by filtering and powered respirators use the motor to pass the air for filtration purpose tends to give clean air for breathing for the person wearing it.
• Breathing apparatus(BA): Provides clean quality air for breathing from an external source and is used mainly in the oxygen-deficient environment.
